The objective for this project was to design a mobile, personal liquid vessel. My initial concept phase consisted of different variations of an easily transportable IV drip. The key learning concept for this project was the creation and use of user personas to guide design decisions for a specific user group.
My user personas developed as I moved from the initial ideation phase to the concept phase because I found a unique user persona in performers who expend vast amounts of energy on a consistent basis. They often use IV therapy to maintain high energy levels, but have to sacrifice time and money towards this.
A major learning curve I faced was developing a high-fidelity appearance model. I used Fusion 360 to create a 3D model of the product to 3D print then create a high-fidelity finish using primarily spray paint.
Overall, the project provided an opportunity to explore the design of a pre-existing commonplace medical system and investigate the possibilities that exist by redesigning it to be easily transportable and more user friendly.
