Angle was a partner project where we were tasked with creating a chair that was made from a flat piece of wood. We did independent ideation sketches and sketch models before coming together with a partner to create one design. My partner and I decided to create a seat for people to use outdoors on angled ground such as at a soccer game or a tailgate.
The key learning point for this project was the use of a CNC machine and the creation of a flat lay for the machine. This is a very unique process and it gives a lot of opportunity for problem solving and organization practice. My roles in this project included creating a 3D model on Fusion 360, converting that model into a flat lay for use with the CNC machine, and designing an instruction manual for the assembly and disassembly of the stool.
